Hi Lovely!

Ready for the new week to begin? To help you transition into the busy and hectic hustle and bustle of the daily weekday, here's a great fall garden salad recipe which takes all the ingredients and makes the whole taste superb!
 Fresh Garden Salad Recipe

So first comes the base of the salad, the largest quantity of ingredients:

- 5-10 baby tomatoes
- a few handfuls of lettuce and mixed greens
- 1/4 of an avocado

Next comes the the second layer, the yummy dressing:

- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 1-2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon plum vinegar

Last but certainly not least comes the topping of the salad:

- a handful of almonds
- 1-2 cloves of garlic, chopped to your choice of thinness/thickness
- lemon zest: about half of lemon juice

Mix up all of the ingredients if you wish. I prefer to mix all of them and them keep my almonds on a separate plate so that they don't get soggy.
And there you have it folks! A great and tasty salad that is simple, refreshingly extravagant, and soothingly satisfying to each bite, enjoy :)

Recipes for the sensitive stomach

Healthy Breakfast for Nausea

Hi all!
When it comes to leaky gut, what is it really? Well, for one thing, it is actually fairly common among all people, as these days we do not take care of our overall health. Leaky gut can be caused from:

  • overuse of antibiotics
  • stress*
  • foods with sugar, bread, gluten, starch, wheat (JUNK FOOD)
  • lack of probiotics (KEFIR)
*Keep the stress to a minimum; practice yoga, meditation, gratitude, keep a journal, free your thoughts.

Now that you know what potentially causes it, some of the symptoms that may appear could be you feeling bloated after a meal, nauseous, or brain fog (confusion). Usually you would be allergic to soy, dairy, and eggs if you would have an extreme case. So, a stool test would be ideal to take. Genova is a good lab and there are some others if you use Google.

On those days where you are very bloated and have much brain fog, here is a great way to relieve all of that:

  • Take an enzyme with every meal
  • Eat more liquids than solids so that your body can easily digest all of the nutrients
  • For breakfast eat some tangerines or a grapefruit.
  • Wait about 10min so you can digest accordingly.
  • The next three ingredients are a great little recipe that my mom came up with and it helps an upset stomach greatly with a perfect combination
  • 1-2 cups of Green tea (not too strong to avoid caffeine) +  a cup of applesauce + a cup of Tvorog with 1 Tablespoon of Udo 369 oil (Flaxseed)

Enjoy :)

Hi lovely!

Sometimes you want a meal that is easy on your stomach. Either you have cramps or just want something soothing and scrumptious nonetheless, check out these uniquely combined ingredients that make for a great meal:

Garlic, homemade apple sauce (sliced apples mixed in a blender with a bit of water), coconut oil, and raw cheddar cheese. To make it even better add some green tea (matcha is great) and turmeric (sounds interesting but tastes superb with the cheese combo). It is truly smooth and satisfying and if you need something to soothe and ease your sensitive stomach after or during a cold, try this quick and delicious recipe! Boun Appetite :)

Leaky Gut leads to allergies*

Diets matter

So, these days we have a high carbohydrate/sugar based diet. All of the chemicals we are ingesting into ourselves affects our health long term. Therefore, it's important to take control and feed our bodies with the right kind of nutrition that would create beneficial results.

Leaky gut syndrome- as atypical as this term may seem, it is highly typical among our population these days. Dr. Oz talked about it on his show and made it clear that it is concurrent and also a direct result of our diets.

Food intolerance, allergies, rashes, fatigue, gas, bloating, parasites, a high sugar diet, and eczema are all symptoms of leaky gut. The underlying cause of this is the overgrowth of yeast due to the high sugar diets. Thus, the immune system is struggling to remain strong within the civil war that occurs in the blood. The barrier is cut from the intestinal lining of the gut; this creates a separation from the gut to the bloodstream.

To find out if you have leaky gut syndrome so that you can start taking the best measures to inhibit future yeast overgrowth incidences, take the intestinal permeability test. This test will essentially demonstrate any presence of substances getting through intestines that should not get through. Getting healthy begins with the first step of acknowledgement, take it!
So, ready to begin cleaning up those intestines? Remember, it's no easy quick fix. It requires dedication and consistency. First, remove all of the things harming your intestinal permeability: gluten, dairy, refined sugars, N SAID, and nightshades-tomatoes.

Next, replace foods that act as laxatives: probiotic supplements, pickled veggies, and sauerkraut.

Finally, time to repair your intestines with: omega-3 rich foods and glutamine powder (increases function of cells in intestines). Chromium Polynicotinate (niacin B3) regulates blood sugar. Whole grain has some chromium, but not enough. This supplement regulates insulin function. In addition, it also regulates cholesterol, blood sugar, blood pressure, and weight control. Taking this supplement also increases muscle gain, making it easier for you to gain strength. As chromium stabilizes insulin and regulates blood sugar, this converts to energy.

Instructions

  1. Remove all of the foods causing Leaky Gut, such as carbohydrates and sugar.
  2. Replace foods to smooth over your intestinal lining such as like laxatives (probiotics).
  3. Repair your intestinal lining with good sources of nutrition like glutamine powder and chromium.
Having leaky gut may be different for each person as it is based on each persons immune system in terms of what's good for you(some dairy) may not be so good for someone else (dairy/lactose intolerant).

Interesting concept: An important factor to realize would initially be to understand the strong gut-brain correlation. This is more or less a new idea in that before this was not totally accepted/understood at all. If you go to a psychologist and tell him or her that you are depressed they would see it as a possible deficiency of serotonin in the brain and they would prescribe some medication. However, a gut specialist would first want to rule out any possible digestion problems, because based on the severity the gut may be so inflamed that it can decrease the amount of serotonin that the brain produces. Taking a complete GI stool test with a functional doctor would be ideal to find out the root of the problem and begin the path to healing. So in fixing your gut(which is a long but much needed process) you will be fixing your depression.
