Memorial Weekend Inspiration

 Memorial Day Weekend

What is Memorial Day anyway? We celebrate it every year, school and work is off, and we enjoy some family fun. But sales aside, what's the actual history behind it all? Well, as we salute every American hero on this day who served in the United States Armed Forces, we remain truly grateful as American citizens.
Today specifically, we remember that the men and women who support us fight for us. So on this day every year, we commemorate the soldiers who died in the Civil War and beyond. Let us come together in support and honor the great work that the military service continuously provides for us, including safety, freedom, and peace! The traditional observance
on Memorial Day is the raised United States Flag  and then it respectively lowers until noon. It represents the process during the day, and through this process, we respect and remember the millions of both men and women who gave their lives to the service of their country. Let us participate, and honor and rise as we realize what the American Flag stands for: liberty and justice for all.

Weekend Quote: Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.

Weekend Thought: We have different ideas of soul mates. Sometimes we obsess over the ideal form, but that's irrelevant. The main thing that a soul mate should provide for us is a better "us". A better you, a better me. That's it, simply. The person makes you a better person and you him. It's a give and take, equally. It is magical though, because the feeling of being your true self and someone not only validating it but enhancing it is all we need from someone. To help us grow, reach our wisdom, and make the world a better place should bring us peace at the end of the day.

Weekend To-Do: To do good and feel good you must take the first steps to acquire success. These steps are based on your desires to achieve your dreams. Remember, there is no competition, only progress to be completed. Take action ❤

A delicious weekend breakfast! This french toast is yummy and satisfying, with cheese, a bit of whole butter, and a sizzle of maple syrup!

April Awakening

Thursday, April 4, 2013
Sometimes you go through hard times where nothing makes sense. You may discover that you are angry at the world and that nobody understands you. When that takes a toll on your live and that is all you ever think about, you do not have to think of anything. Clear out your mind and try and not control it. Trust in the good and pray when you can, because you are strong and you can get through this.

                                        Challenges make you stronger❤

*Side note: Not to be confused with food sensitivities, which may make you feel insane, so check out your blood tests for delayed food sensitivities to make sure that the food you are eating is not making you feel so depressed and confused.*

Poems, an outlet to expressing a little thing called love ❤

Poem about the rain

Oh rain, you make an incredible feeling
An internal rhythm, so sleepy, so endearing
The drips the drops the sound of calm
Like a feather falling on top of your palm
Time for some warm tea and a comfy couch
A family get together, so tight, some had to slouch
The music was on, dancing amid the air
Movement and smiles, circulating our hair
Forward and back, we followed one another
turning down the lights and adding candles, done by my mother
This created serenity, a sense of unadulterated peace
As raindrops kept falling, the tree branches rattling piece by piece
As the sun was not present, it was time for a nap
For us, for all, together, we heard the windows tap
Sounds of the rain, aspiring to forgo
To expose a certain tranquility, for us it does not show
We only feel the touch of the weather instigation
An appreciated phenomenon, almost an intensified denomination

I found this adorable Love Poem on one of the Pinterest boards❤

Simple words have the deepest meanings. We take love for granted. Either we spend a lot of our time with people who know nothing about love or we spend time running away from people who are giving us the love that we need and deserve. That being said, love is natural and real. If you feel it, give it, expand yourself, and stay true to the love you can give.

We know that love makes the world go round. When we know and understand the true value and meaning of giving love, anything is possible. Love is easy when it comes from the heart.

Delightful December

Clementines for sale
These juicy fruits are delectable yet so small!
Squirrel Eating Quietly
On a warm Wednesday, this cute little squirrel went near a broken tree (due to Sandy) and peacefully decided to munch on his or her lunch (nuts, preferably).
 A piece of nature
Sometimes you need to take a step back and enjoy the view.
 Trying is the first step

Gain inspiration from within when there is momentarily none on the external surface.

It is warm out today! Almost feels like summer

Grandma's Farmer Cheese

This old fashioned farmer cheese seems to continue and thrive exceedingly and implicitly adheres to serving the current generation of hungry people. They do have a unique and everlasting traditional saying that grandmas make the best (combination of healthy and tasty) food!

Christmas Decorations are in full swing on balconies!
 Quote of the Day
"Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success."
Easier said than done, I contest that these wise words are truly a valuable imaginary keepsake for every individual to contain.

Laundry Day

Time to get busy with the laundry! Soap, money, and all of the clothes. Homemade chocolate bread

December calls for some good eat'n! Here's some nice comfort food after a long, cold day.

Homemade borscht
A Russian delicatessen, borscht is a traditional homemade soup served either in a red or green color. You could also choose hot vs. cold. Sour cream is another option to add to the soup for extra flavor as well as adding a slice of crispy bread with butter to satisfy your taste buds. Enjoy

Nutcracker

Time to get your nutcrackers out! A majestic symbol in the ballet, "The Nutcracker" and one that I performed in many many times at the New York City Ballet with The School of American Ballet. So fulfilling and rewarding, performing for all of the excitedly awaiting children. Do they really crack nuts though?

Santa is coming to Town

Amidst the holiday festivities, many children's stores have added a traditional Christmas tree and the good ol' Santa Claus in the front main window so that all the fellow onlookers would enjoy and appreciate the atmosphere with their kids.

A taste of the holidays, literally!

-Here are just a few of the yummy Christmas desserts that are beautiful to look at, they automatically get you into the spirit of family and love!
